Study

I created an inventory of the technology currently used in my classroom. A link to my Thinglink graphic may be found below.

I plan on improving my technology learning environment by transitioning more from teacher led to student led and developing ways to use the technology they are comfortable;e with using. One example in specific is Musical.ly. I have found my students love making short music videos to help with the subjects we are learning about.

Since each culture has its own music preferences this may be a great project to see how a connection of music can connect learning.

GOOGLE HANGOUTS

A great service that allows classrooms to connect to other classrooms, scientists, and other places of interest on a global level.

MUSICAL.LY

This is anew experiment that we are trying in class. Students create music videos of curriculum materials to share on the Internet and with each other.

THINGLINK

Students use images to make interactive graphic presentations. We have used this extensively in the class with great success.

PADLET

This is a very handy collaboration tool. What I like the best about it is that it can be used in real time as well as asynchronous collaborative projects. This allows easier communication with wider time zones.

We are currently adding more each day. The best place I find technology to use in class is from my students. During my travel, I found that lack of access to the internet is the critical item lacking in order to further students global learning.

Tools I use in My Classroom to Assess Global Learning

GLOBAL ASSESSMENT TOOLS

There are many ways to begin teaching Global Competence in your classroom. In fact, you most likely are already including some aspects of it already. In order to access where you are so you can find out new ways to improve your efforts to connect your students to the rest of the world, here are some invaluable links to access your global endeavors. If you feel totally lost as to where to start, I would suggest the Asia Society's in depth guide and rubric to measure your current status for classroom global competence.  It is the second entry on the list.
